1000 Dutch juvenile gulls fitted with green tibia ring

I just received this message from Roland-Jan Buijs, one of Holland’s top gull ringers:

Hi all,

Hereby I send you a picture of this year cohort tibia-rings on Larus fuscus and Larus argentatus.

We ringed about 800 juvenile Larus fuscus and 200 juvenile Larus argentatus with these rings.

The rings are green with white digits and a dote between the characters.

Birds are ringed at: Moerdijk, Hollands Diep, Haringvliet, Krammer-Volkerak, Markiezaat, Maasvlakte and Europoort.

Please feel free to put this picture on your blogs. I hope you will see lots of them the next years.

We also ringed one Great black-backed Gull with such an ring.

Cheers to you all and all the best from Holland.
