Short Chinese documentary of Relict Gull

The following video was posted on YouTube this week by BonTV China, showing an insight into the life of the Relict Gull (Ichthyaetus relictus), or Relie Gull as they call it.

One of the least-known types of gulls (numbers are estimated to be at 10,000 or less, and dropping), the Relict Gull shows characteristics of our Black-headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) and the Medeterranean Gull (Ichthyaetus melanocephalus). The hood has the same color and shape of the Black-headed gull but with the large white eye lids of a Med Gull, and the the juvenile plumage is very similar to that of a juvenile Med Gull.

A gorgeous gull that I would love to see in the wild!
