After having seen a 4th-calendar year Iceland Gull yesterday in the city of Utrecht where I was born, today (15 March) a 2nd-calendar year Iceland Gull Larus glaucoides was reported on my local gull patch in the city of Leiden where I currently live!
It flew back and forth between two locations where I regularly check for ringed gulls, and showed itself for short periods of time at each location before flying off again, but we managed to get some good views.
It’s also a first for Leiden but very much a species that we have been expecting to show up here for some time.
