Images of female Herring Gull Green F.ANH, fitted with a GPS logger. She breeds in the gull colony on the isle of Texel (Kelderhuispolder) where a receiving station is located that downloads the data from the GPS device whenever she is in range.
The data can be viewed on this Web site (click the link below the Google map and select device 6072). The gull colony is on the island in the north, while the location where the images below were taken can be seen just south of it: the large cluster of data points on the beach. Currently, sand suppletion activities are taking place there which attracts many gulls from the colony and other parts of the region.
All images were taken on 25 May 2015, near Den Helder.
