One of my favourite gull plumages is that of a fresh juvenile Black-headed Gull Chroicocephalus ridibundus. I particularly like the cinamon colored mantle and scapulars that contrast nicely with the light grey, white and black of the wings and tail.
The images below show White EFJ5 in the Black-headed Gull colony of Zoetermeer, the Netherlands on 25 June 2015. It was ringed 3 weeks previous as a pullus.
Note that the outer primary P10 is not yet fully grown.
