During our stay at the landfill of Blaringhem, France in the week of 9 – 13 October 2017, first-calendar year Caspian Gull (-type) Yellow X594 was seen on all days except the first.
It was ringed in the gull colony of Gräbendorfer See near Lausitz, Germany (close to Poland).
Interestingly, it was observed in the week of October 23 in Dungeness in South-East England, so just across the Channel.
It will probably keep crossing the Channel many times during the next few years so hopefully I’ll see him in the Netherlands some time soon 🙂
